Edward Acciardi, one of the most beloved guidance counselors
Hackensack High School has ever seen, had sent me this information about his life and military service when I, (Bob Meli) requested it.

He has affected so many students in a positive way that I could not begin to list them all.  After retiring from teaching, Edward Acciardi started the Blue and Gold Scholarship fund, which has continued to help students since his retirement and will continue for years to come.  I do not know Edward Acciardi as a personal intimate friend, but I do know him well enough to say I always admired his persevering attitude, always with a spirit of goodwill and caring toward helping students and people in need.  Edward Acciardi did not stop his contact with people after graduation, but rather if they so choose to stay in touch, he never saw this as an intrusion into his personal life or time, but rather a blessing that he embraced to the fullest and was grateful.

Edward Acciardi’s service was as a person who trained medics for overseas service, and although he was not in combat as Louis D’Arminio was during World War II, the understanding of carrying on the blessing of a giving spirit was still impressed upon him and so Edward Accairdi has been a blessing to Hackensack High School ever since.
